Scarigami - Balloon Manor - An interactive balloon funhouse / haunted house

In case any of you were wondering why Todd has not posted, the website linked above should account for his disappearance. Much to Cheryl's dismay the house he is working on is not a house she would want to live in :) I personally think this bit of balloon-gineering must have been generated by a balloon mensa. And even though you can’t take it home with you (it won’t fit in the overhead), you sure can marvel at it’s intricate construction, and maybe when the lights are out it could send shivers up your spine.

Enjoy! If any of you are in the Rochester area you definitely need to check this out ... you know as well as I do that if you don't you will be seeing pictures on Todd's palm pilot until next Halloween. Does anyone remember the ocotopus?

All kidding aside, this is a really cool project for a worthy cause and well worth the trip to Rochester. Kudos Todd.

Now what would be really cool is if one room launced 200 balloons at you. The walls would be covered with 260's like tentacles. As people poked and jabbed the balloons would release (perhaps all at once), cool for the surprise factor but a definite choking hazard - not to mention the potential to poke an eye out.

Boston Fact Checking

As a direct result of a conversation with a foreigner / new red sox fan on Wednesday night (in a Boston bar of course) I have researched the "Curse". This link has what seems to be valid information. The main question I was looking up was the name of the play that was supposedly funded by the Babe Ruth trade.

Answer: 'No No Nannette', interestingly it was a Broadway show that "started the nostalgia craze on Broadway".

FORECAST: LOTS OF ROBOTS

Interesting. Someone should launch a company along these lines ... what ever would they name it?

LOTS OF ROBOTS

Turn off that TV - Remote

This guy invented a remote to turn off any T.V. with the idea of turning off T.V.'s in bars and restaurants. Two thoughts: don't do that in Boston & if it gets really popular I'm going to start selling a T.V. turn on remote. Of course without the channel changing functionality you might get stuck with some awful programming.

I suppose you could just make a limited functionality remote {power, volume, channel} that scrolls through most of the popular 200 codes - provided the codes do not contradict between models.

Hilarious political ad making fun of John Kerry

This fake radio ad is absolutely hilarious, regardless of your preference for Kerry or Bush.

And in a surprise, the New York Times endorsed Kerry. Actually, that one was easy to call.

Google Desktop Search

This is pretty exciting -- we can now Google our own files. I'm going to check this out and report back.

Teen reaction to the presidential debate

Something about clips from kids that lend a sense of integrity to comments. One would like to think they are not brain washed yet, however I'm sure the editor of the article was not an adolescent. The good news is these are comments from Florida.

Another HILARIOUS online cartoon

The guys from JibJab have another one out, called "Good To Be in CD". It's hilarious -- not quite as groundbreaking as the first one, but still completely worth a look and a link.

Vote for panties - leave it to Michael Moore

Michael Moore off hook for underwear gimmick. It's not a rapture but it's an appeal to the slackers of the generation.

We've all seen the mistaken Rapture story -- about the driver who crashes aftter thinking that floating sex dolls are going to heaven -- but here's a note from the guy who wrote the story.

As expected, he was just poking fun and never expected the story to take off. Here's the newspaper version. Here's his little report.

SpaceShipOne & the 10M Ansari X-Prize

Unbelievable! Space tourism for the public by 2007. I'm going to start saving up my 200K now :)

This article covers the flight and story better than most. Also take a peek at the slide linked to the left of the story for better detail on how everything works.

The Capitol Steps Home Page

I'm back to blogging after a few days out-of-town, and a few days with my net access down.

While I was offline the presidential race heated up -- which I follow by obsessively watching The Daily Show. But the best way to poke fun at the whole debacle is to listen to The Capitol Steps. Jump right in and download some of their free MP3s, starting with the Kerry-Bush Medley. fg

Right now I'm watching the debate, and it's more of the same. I can't wait to vote . . . .

Ten things lessons from a strip club

Hey, no one else is posting - I figured I might as well spice things up a bit. Maybe someday I will have to do my own research :) From what I hear though, these are right on, although I don't smoke (er, no one who told me stories of such places smokes).
